Conquering Mt. Apo

One of my highest personal achievements is being able to reach the highest point of the Philippines… the Mount Apo Peak.

Grabe, as in spiritual experience!

Para sa ako, dali ra makakadto sa laing nasud kun jaoy imo kwarta sanan connections, pero an pagpanik sa Mt. Apo is one in a million experience. Matud pan nan mga relihiyoso… blessing!

I was able to finish 10 rolls of film (waya pay digital cam nako hehehe)… but I’d like to share just a few kay basin magbaha an ijo inbox. Hehehe!

Here’s the last sunset of the millennium (December 31, 1999). Photo taken by Karachi. Nag-nga-nga ako sa ka-guapo nan sunset and to think, jaon kami sa ibabaw nan panganod! Nag rain coat kami (iababaw pan nan mga windstopper and jackets) kay hamok badja panganod, mabasa an palibot.

Here’s Karachi and I… resting! We met here the Bob Marley of the Philippines. He holds the Philippine record of 16 climbs to Mt. Apo (well, according to Karachi). Taympa, bakakon man an camera… actually pang-pang inin among tag-ingkoran. Tag-ihi na isab ako sa kakuyba… We just climbed some 15 feet from below amo na taghanos…and the shrub-like plants in the background are actually tree-tops. I had with me 11kilos of baggage while Karachi had 16 kilos (sija an nagbaba nan amo bugas sanan tubig – professional mountaineer gud, so naluoy kan Kuya, hehehe)
