Ups and Downs

Gulong ng palad sa isang araw!

My wife and I were so happy seeing the results of our kid's first ever periodical exams. Of course, I took pictures of their papers. Lawrence (Kinder 1) got very high grades including a perfect score (50 out of 50!!!) in science. Who can be prouder than that! Will blogged the photos later...

That's one UP!

And the downer...

We went to mass yesterday at 7PM. The entire experience, as usual, was full of thanksgiving and love, especially during the kiss of peace, where the four of us kiss one another, matched with tights hugs. But during the final blessing, Michael burst into loud tears, something that really bothered us, because he never cries that hard. His pain tolerance is so high that dropping from a high chair to the floor could not make him cry. I rushed and saw that his right index finger was bitten by another boy (about Lawrence' age)... sorely bitten!

Now, it was something we were not prepared. How do you confront that situation??? I felt like hacking the boy's head in front of everybody in the church! I closed my eyes asking Lord's help. Nagdilim isip ko... ayaw nga naming ipagakat sa lamok... kagatin pa ng ibang bata!

My wife carried Michael and comforted him. I discreetly told the parents of the boy "Your kid bit the finger of my child. We will bring him to the hospital and you should be responsible on whatever will happen to him. You should discipline your kid!"

With my harsh looks, the "bad" boy realized that he did wrong and bursted into tears. I can see how shocked and afraid the parents were.

Michael is now fine, thanks God. We have to buy them Selecta ice cream.
