Lampornas an amo pamilya pangasakit (our family was swept up with illness).
I hate bad weather because of the illnesses it brings. We had to rush Michael to the Medical City yesterday because of continuous high fever. (It feels so nice to have a very good hospital nearby. You are always assured of easy access and quality of service.) His pedia, Dr. Cruz, told us 5 possible reasons of the kid's fever. She has examined him and was able to rule out 3: no ear infection, no throat infection, and the lungs are normal. The fever could be due to viral or bacterial infections. She just told us to double the amount of Paracetamol which Michael is taking (Tempra Forte) because Michael gained some weight. We have to observe him until Monday (July 17). If the fever persists, we have to ask for a CBC test and urinalysis and go back to Dr. Cruz. If fever subsides, then Michael is okay. He has colds too and for this he is taking Disudrin.
Lawrence has dry cough and has colds also. Last night, he had difficulty sleeping. He is taking Disudrin and Zobrixol.
Both of them are given plenty of fluids, particularly orange juice and gatorade.
Mama Teng and Yaya Langlang had coughs too since Tuesday. Last Thursday, I had fever and body malaise, but taking Flanax took these out. Yesterday, I finally got cough. Now, instead of coffee or chocolate, i am taking ginger brew (salabat) for my regular drink, and Benadryl Expectorant.
Yes, it was the bad weather. Since Tuesday, Typhoon Florita has been scourging the country. We thought at first that it was good because by Wednesday, the kids' classes were suspended which went on until Friday. But now that we are sick... no thanks... show us the golden sun, please!
We are still thankful that we don't have to stay in the hospital and Michael can rest at home. But still, it bleeds our heart to see the kids so ill and inactive. I've already shared with you how these batkids can be super hyper... everyday.
Anyway, we have to undergo through this from time to time. C'est la vie! Please offer prayers for our recovery and good health.
Pray for the nation's safety too.
