Aurens at Medical City

At 5pm today, Aurens woke up with an itchy eye. Teng did not bother since it is usual for the kids to rub their eyes after their sleep. An instant later, Aurens was already complaining of a painful eye and wanted it blowed by her Mama. Teng saw a jelly-like transparent material inside the eye almost covering Aurens' pupil. In her words, "Aurens' eyes seem to melt". She called me at once to go home.

I arrived at around 5:30pm and went straight to the nearby Medical City Hospital. The Hospital is now fully finished and whoa, it is like a hotel (our last visit there was also August last year). It has Starbucks Coffee inside. The pedia emergency unit sent us right away to the resident optalmologist. After a series of eye exams (through some sort of eye telescope) and reading tests (funny that Lawrence was all smiles as he reads the letters and drawings on the wall), the doctor concluded that it was just a "hypersensitivity" reaction to something. Since, we too noticed that the swelling (white jelly like thing) has subsided, we believed that it was really a reaction. We were advised to apply cold compress when we get home and let Aurens drink some anti-allergy medz. Hypo-allergenic foods should also be avoided e.g. egg, etc.
